Mechanical Production Technician | FPL Energy | Stockton, CA
FPL Energy is a leading clean energy provider with natural gas, wind,
solar, hydroelectric, coal, and nuclear power operating plants in 24
states. Among the many opportunities at FPL Energy we are currently
interviewing for electrical production technicians at our 40 MW
coal-fired plant at Port of Stockton.
- Perform outside operator duties. Including chemical sampling and
testing, taking outside readings and monitoring plant equipment.
- Ability to climb ladders and work at heights
- Perform all phases of power plant operations including the control
room.
- Welding of coal handling conveyors, bucket elevator ducting, coal silo
take-a-way screws, bed and ash removal systems
- Welding new replacement steam traps
- Welding on plant projects
- Valve repacking
- Pump maintenance, replacement of mechanical seals,k discharge and
suction flange gaskets
- Pump motor alignment after repair work
- Preventive maintenance scheduled equipment greasing
- Steam condensate hose replacements etc.
We are seeking career-oriented individuals with a minimum of two years
experience utilizing electrical skills and a high school diploma or GED,
some college coursework or technical school certification preferred.
Basic computer skills. Proficient at bias for action,
technical/functional experience, innovative resourceful, safety/health
consciousness, and learning/proficient at communications, customer
focus, personal leadership and quality orientation.
Work Schedule: Rotating 12 hour shifts
